Catalan Button Football Shines in Barcelona

On May 20, 2026, an outstanding table football tournament was held in Barcelona at the Forment Hortenc venue, showcasing the continued growth and development of Catalan button football.

The competition began with a Swiss-system qualification stage, followed by exciting knockout matches featuring the top 16 players. The organizers also introduced a modern digital tournament management system, while one selected match from every round was broadcast live on YouTube, allowing fans to follow the action from around the world.

Thanks to the dedicated work and careful preparation of chief organizer Edu Steresszes, the event became a beautiful celebration of the sport. It is remarkable to see how far the Catalan community has progressed since restarting competitive play just four years ago. Today, they are capable of organizing high-quality international-standard events.

ITFC President István Mártonfi attended the tournament and held several informal discussions with Carlos and Adria regarding international matters and the future official responsibilities of Catalan button football within the international community. As many already know, Catalan button football is expected to become the fourth official discipline within the ITFC in the near future.

The tournament concluded with an exciting final between two Adrias. After a closely contested match, Adria Villa secured a 2–1 victory over Adria Garriga to claim the championship title.
