The European Championship Kicks Off This Friday in Becej, Serbia

The highly anticipated X. ITFC European Championship is just around the corner, set to kick off in just two days! We can expect fierce battles across all categories, with many strong contenders vying for the top spots. While predictions are challenging, here’s a glimpse of the key players to watch in each discipline:

In Sectorball, up to 10 players have a shot at claiming victory. Top contenders include Viktor Lukács (HUN), the reigning World Champion; Ervin Varga (ROU), the current European Champion; István Debreczy (ROU), the 2024 Hungarian Champion; and Gábor Farkas Jr. (HUN), a member of last year’s Vasi GE champion team. Other notable players include György Pákai (ROU), a European and World Champion; János Koczor (HUN) World Chapmion; Tamás Szatmári (HUN) World Champion; Stevan Plemic (SRB) Serbian Champion; and Norbert Rákos (SRB) Serbian Champion.

In 12 Touch, the competition is equally intense. Nándor Kovács (HUN), a European Champion, and László Puskás (HUN), a multiple-time Hungarian Champion, are strong favorites. They will face tough competition from Levente Kiss (HUN), another multiple Hungarian Champion; Péter Matkó (HUN); István Marschal (ROU); Adrian Bravo Fernandez (ESP) and Adria Garriga (ESP).

The Chaps category promises close matches as well, with Juan Rubio Churruca (ESP) expected to lead the pack. Other strong contenders include Péter Matkó (HUN), Lehel Valics (ROU), and Adria Garriga (ESP), who is the current World Champion.

The individual tournament will begin with group stages, followed by a knockout format to determine the ultimate champion. The team competition will feature a full round-robin system to decide which country takes home the trophy.
