Quick updates from the 2025 ITFC general online meeting

On May 17, the 2025 ITFC General Assembly was held online, starting at 22:00 CEST. While a detailed summary will be published soon, here are some of the most important highlights:
- The next World Championship is expected to take place in Hungary in the second half of 2026. Preparations are already underway for what promises to be a landmark event.
- Catalan table football is making great strides toward becoming an official discipline within the ITFC. With significant promotional efforts and growing international interest, they are on the verge of reaching the five-country threshold required for formal recognition. The assembly unanimously supported the inclusion of Catalan style as the fourth official discipline of the Confederation. It is set to be formally accepted at the 2026 World Championship Congress, with its debut World Championship appearance likely in Barcelona in 2028 or 2029.
- A packed international calendar lies ahead:
- May 24–25: 5th Stickbreakers Cup (Sectorball and 12-touch) in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania
- End of May: International tournament in Valencia, Spain
- June 21: Catalan-style event in Barcelona
- June 28: International tournament in Poznań, Poland
- June 28: Brazilian Chapas National Championship in Rio de Janeiro
- July: Festival Cup in Szeged, Hungary, featuring individual Sectorball and the European Cup Final
- End of August: The first-ever USA Nation Cup (12-touch discipline) in New Jersey
